Hello

I am a relative newbie in private stock-picking and could use some help.

I have had dividends tax deducted by governments at source for:

Ferrexpo (FXPO) - Swiss

Plus500 (PLUS) - Israeli

So my question is, if a share is listed on the LSE, how can you easily tell where it is registered?

And secondly, is there a site which lists all of the dividend deductions by country for UK investors.

Note, I have signed the W8-BEN form for US stocks and received full dividends . I have assumed equivalent forms don't exist for Switzerland and Israel.

In terms of where the company is registered Stocko is useful - the head office address is shown a little way down on the right under a map. Go to Ferrexpo (LON:FXPO) and Plus500 (LON:PLUS) and you will see what I mean.

The maps are not particularly useful though. Many seem to be centred in the sea to the west of Gabon.

I think that happens if the address doesn't completely match with googlemaps. If you go to Plus500 (LON:PLUS) and click on the company address it will open the correct map saying "Partial matches ,MATAM ~~Building~~ 22, HAIFA, 31905, Israel "

Very interesting about the maps.

Just a thought, with such valuable real estate of the Stockopedia page, do we really need a map? It would be very easy to manually copy the address and drop it into google if you really wanted to see the exact head office.

If you download the Issuer list from here,
https://www.londonstockexchange.com/reports?tab=issuers

The spreadsheet will shows where each company that is listed on the LSE is incorporated

It seems that although Ferrexpo is a Swiss company (which mainly operates in Ukraine), it is in-fact incorporated in the UK.

Note with stocks listed in Hong Kong ,Guernsey,Bermuda,Cayman, Singapore,Malaysia,Austria ,Cyprus , and Malta you would be unlucky to be subject any tax on dividends
