Hi,
How do I do this?
Thanks
You might be able to get around the problem by making sure that you sort the data in the best way first, then download it. If this doesn't give you what you want, then you could also sort by your second best way and make a separate download.
Can new members use the old site?
I don't think so. The only new member I know in real life can't. I'm still switching back and forth between the two and find that navigating and layout on the old site is much better for me.
The screener on the new is easier to set up IMO, but then let down by the 50 limit and lack of folders to organise them. The new features on the new are welcomed, however, many old features I like haven't made the transition yet.
On the new site you can get at the next 50 results by clicking on the "page number" at the bottom of the result table. So you can download 50 results at a time and even if there are more than 200 you can eventually visit all the results. On the old site, it downloads all the results in one go but will only fetch a maximum of 200 results.
This also affects the sorting. On the old site if you change the sort order by using the buttons at the head of each column it only resorts the first 200 results as returned by the screen. On the new site it resorts all the possible results from the screen (and changes the sort rule in the screen itself).

I hadn't picked up on this interaction. Thanks.
I've downloaded for a couple of reasons recently:
Running a portfolio selection algorithm to balance exposure to sectors and identify new potential buys. Easier than doing it manually.
Calculating 'outstanding value' for companies with high ROCE/ROIC/Low debt and placing cheeky limit orders that might get filled, either due to a lack of other buyers or algorithms getting temporarily locked in a positive feedback loop. I just needed the 'close' and some valuation measures for this. These are companies that have characteristics which in the long term I'd be happy to own until they recover from an oversold position. I don't actually expect any of these orders to be filled.
Thanks, that's what I thought. I rarely use the new system. Screens I have over 80, when I last looked on the new system I could only see the first 25. So it seem you can have more now, I will will have another look.
The old site does seem to getting any fixes if there is not an issue on the new system, I reported a problem with when you click on discuss on the Stockreport it used to bring up all the discussion posts about it, I noticed on quite a few shares that the more recent posts were not showing up, however they do show up on the new system, I was informed that issues like this were unlikely to be fixed. There are some other issues that members may not be aware of such as portfolios profits are calculated differently on the new system.
At some point we'll allow far more than 50 downloadable results. It's a question of "patience, patience, all is coming". We do have 957 features requested large and small and are gradually working through them. We have to balance prioritisation carefully.
The new site will continue to develop, and its features will continue to diverge in new, exciting and additive ways, as well as filling 'holes' that still exist versus the old site.
How long we maintain the old site is TBC - we are no longer developing it, but maintaining it does slow down our development speed due to backwards compatibility work.
We are working on a new data system which will integrate soon. It's the basis for a push into fund & trust data as well as far more powerful and flexible stock screening on fundamental and technical data. Good things coming.
