In our last update we introduced linked articles from the StockReport, an events page for our webinars, and a fresh format for daily market commentary, while hinting at more upcoming changes. Today, we’re excited to announce the next of those improvements - a powerful new way to stay connected to your conversations.

We’re pleased to introduce comment notifications, a feature designed to keep you more closely connected to discussions on our platform. With this new functionality, you’ll receive a notification whenever someone replies to one of your comments, ensuring you never miss out on important conversations.

To make sure you have full control over your notifications, we’ve also added customisable notification preferences. You can choose exactly how you’d like to receive these alerts—whether by email or through in-app notifications—by adjusting your settings in the notifications area. This added flexibility ensures you stay informed in a way that best suits your workflow.

Given your positive feedback on the linked articles on the StockReport, we will now be extending this feature to the mains charts area as well, making it easier to link the price movements on the chart to key stories on that day.

Would it be possible to have the notes we write on stocks ourselves show up when we hover over stocks and the brief info box appears (with stock ranks market cap etc)? Also that hover box to appear when viewing results in chart form.

Or a colour code system where users can attribute a specific colour to certain stocks that shows up in the results next to that stock. Colours can mean whatever our own personal system means so flexible for all.

Yes dividends added would be very useful, just spent 30 minutes updating one folio, l have 25 folios, it is a major undertaking to update all of them, l don't bother.

Just adding another vote for this. It's semi-automated already (the dividend and number of shares are there, you just need to add the date) so full automation should be possible. I guess the only thing is there might be discrepancies where dividends are paid in a foreign currency, but that could be fixed by an occasional cash adjustment to reconcile with the real figures.

Maybe l'm missing something? At the moment, l'm looking up the dividend and date then adding this under transactions, under dividends.

You say the dividend is already there?

Yes 25 folios, would be more but that is the limit,

Could you explain why you have 25 portfolios?

I personally think Sharepad is much better for managing portfolios (though they lack ability to have foreign curency transactions, which IMO is almost medieval).

I use both because I like aspects of both and at the moment can justify the expense.

Yes, go to the Stockreport then if you see add to Folios box, go along to the right you should see Notes. Click on that and you can notes.

I really like notes - I plonk in the summary and any useful reader comments and snippets, it keeps the formatting perfectly. I've got other note systems but this one is really convenient for quick snips

That is a great idea, did not think of that.

The statement "Last Price < 10 % the highest price since 2024-11-21" (for example) that appears before and after the stop loss is set implies that the alert will be triggered when the price drops below 10% of the highest price not below 90% of the highest price as intended. It needs to read "price has dropped by >=10% of the highest price since ...". I have raised this twice with Stockopedia. Still waiting for a detailed response.

Thanks for the reply . It is very tedious keeping a eye on some 50 odd companies that I monitor. You have to monitor ever day in the even that the stock has made a gain, and then enter the new growth. So that you retain the stock growth THAT IS WHAT A TRAILING STOP LOSS IS . Why stockopedia does not introduce this bafials me. as many of the Stock brokers/banks have now incorporated this very useful tool

But Stockopedia does have a trailing stop loss alert, have you used it? I used it on Good Energy (LON:GOOD) on 19/11/24 and it was triggered today.

Sorry, I don't understand your comments about growth. Trailing stop loss sells a share when falls below a certain % from the highest price.

Yes it should read "Last Price < 90 % the highest price since 2024-11-21"

No big deal. Not getting any response from Support on a more important matter.

Stockopedia does have a stop loss alert . but id does not have a trailing stop loss that follows the growth so that when it reaches the maximum growth for that period and I have set a 10% loss from the high point , I would be automatically be informed .

Currently I have to watch the shares on a daily/week basics and manual updated my stop loss.

example :- a share goes from £1.00 to £2.00 . I place a stop loss of on the share of £2.00, if sold banking a gain of £1.00, from the purchase price of £1.00 the share goes on to a value of £5.00 but over next few days ( don't check the market it drops from £5.00 to £2.00 the stop loss kicks in at £2.00 I make £1.00.

Had I had place a stop loss of say 10% from the highest growth and sold, I would have made £4.00. Less the 10% from my Trailing Stop loss. showing me a return of £3.60.

I monitor over 50 shares and would have to monitor 50 charts .

CMC Markets has a trailing stop loss " Trailing stops help to lock in profits while keeping the trade open until the instruments price hits your trailing stop loss"

I don't use it, but sounds like it is not working as it should. The price should move up if the price increases. If price goes from 200 to 500, 10% trailing stop loss should trigger, if price falls to 450p.

Have you reported this to the Support team?

Sorry, I should have been clearer. The dividend *per share* is already there, underneath the relevant box. So is your current holding. So long as you have not bought/sold ex-dividend, usually all that is needed is the date and then you click on the no. of shares and the per-share amount and the calculation is done automatically. It's still a manual process, but much of the work is done for you. That's all I was getting at.

I'm having to look up each individual stock then under accounts - dividends, find the date and the dividend amount. Then go back to the folio, then under each stock, add transactions then dividend, then enter the date and amount. It is very time consuming and easy to miss them.

This is what I get, when I select "dividend" at the top under he transaction type. £0.0389 suggested dividend is shown by the system, then I click on the holding (in this case 1,200 it hasn't changed) and it auto-calculates the amount. Then change the date (or not, it doesn't matter that much) and save.

When the dividend is in $ or Euro then you may have to adjust the exchange rate, too.

Thanks. I see, l get that on Bloomsbury Publishing (LON:BMY) but l'm not getting on many others. This is the first time l have seen the dividend already on the screen.
Is this because (LON:BMY) recently paid a dividend?

Serica Energy (LON:SQZ) paid a dividend about 10 days ago, this is not on my screen, under add dividends, l have to find the amount and enter it manually. This is a right pain if you have 100s of stocks.
