Should I GO-AHEAD?

I am planning to buy a little - it has a very high rank. Good PEG, PE and yield, but as a novice I want to ask am I missing anything obvious that should be ringing alarm bells?

I like it but the current industrial action and any franchise implications its resultant poor service delivery has are keeping me on the sidelines.

I use their services daily, which is enough to put me off ever buying the shares.

This might be a terrible reason, but there just has to be oodles of regulatory risk with the level of dissatisfaction at their franchise management.

I have recently needed to use the train services in South London and, in comparison with some of the services I use regularly in the Midlands, I was very impressed. It made me wonder what their customers imagined was possible with a rail service that was expected to operate under such pressure. I also wondered how some of the quite stressed commuters would enjoy travelling from, say Leicester to Birmingham in far less modern rolling stock than the sleek jobs taking me and half the world from a still chaotic London Bridge station. It also made me think, "Hello, this "shop" is heaving with customers who have no choice about whether they buy the goods or not. That this business will make increasing amounts of money is a certainty unless our nation's obsession with the South-east and London in particular is changed dramatically. I'm in for a good divi.

Up 5% today.

Could it be that the rejected bid for First Group has seen Apollo turn their sights towards Go-Ahead? Certainly I think they might be a better value play and are financially better although I feel First has a more compelling range of products.
