I am a "dividend farmer", content to hold shares in companies that yield reliably and by reinvesting I aim to create a significant pot within an ISA for future income, should I need it. I sleep soundly, as a man with an already sizeable orchard who has unlimited land on which to plant more fruit trees as every harvest comes in and who enjoys watching the fruit ripen and the sight of the orchard growing ever faster as years go by. I am not concerned to sell unless a tree fails to give fruit but I do prune cleverly and I hold enough varieties to offset inevitable short-term climate variations. There is no room for greed, impatience, stupidity, laziness or neurosis on this farm but holidays are a must.
