Stockopedia StockSlam - 24th Oct - open for registration

Friday, Sep 14 2018 by

The next StockSlam is on the Wed 24th October.

You can register to attend here:

If you aren’t familiar with the StockSlam, it is a fun, social, event where private investors pitch a stock idea to an audience of other investors.  Each pitch is only 3 min long and the 15 pitches last for about an hour.  Afterwards there is pizza and beer and the opportunity to chat with the other guests and discuss the stocks pitched.  The purpose is to provide the private investor community with a forum to meet other like-minded people in a fun and relaxed environment, while picking up valuable stock ideas as the same time.

You can read the write ups for the last two events here:

July 2018 -
June 2018 -

NOTE: It's a different venue from the last events, so be sure you write down the correct address!

The pitching slots have been filled already, however if you are interested in pitching, please register for a normal ticket and then email me at and I will put you down on the waiting list if we get any cancellations.

I'm going to this event tomorrow and I have a list of investment books that I'd be interested in swapping if anyone is interested. I've listed the books below

Philip Fisher - Uncommon Profits
Guy Thomas - Free Capital
Graham - The Intelligent Investor

That's a really good idea Rob as it's easy to accumulate rather a lot of investing books! I've also got Free Capital, which is an excellent read, but I've never quite got to the end of The Intelligent Investor - must be all of those tables at the back....

Thank you Stockopedia for organising and an especially big thanks for all the presenters. If I get one new stock from it it will be a real bonus.

Particular thanks to presenters of RM (LON:RM.) and UP Global Sourcing Holdings (LON:UPGS) as they are two stocks I own...doing brave work representing two pretty unloved stocks. My hope is that dislike tends to look and rationalise backwards too much in markets and we are just the vanguard of new lovers....that said I am running the presentation back in mind as the sp reaction on UPGS today is making me think that perhaps it was a covert short case ;)
