UPDATE 1-UK Stocks-Factors to watch on September 9 Adds new items, updates futures
Sept 9 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening lower on Wednesday, with futures FFIc1 down 0.6%.
* AIRPORTS: Flights from British airports resumed early on Wednesday after a major air traffic control failure, but hubs warned that it would take time for operations to return to normal after the disruption left aircraft in the wrong places.
* ENERGEAN: Eastern Mediterranean-focused gas producer Energean ENOG.L posted a 45% jump in first-half profit, helped by a lower tax charge in Italy, and said production had recovered strongly following the restart of operations in Israel.
* ABERDEEN: British asset manager Aberdeen ABDN.L named Torbjörn Magnusson, the former chief executive of Nordic insurance giant Sampo SAMPO.HE, as its chair-designate and non-executive director.
* OIL: Brent crude prices were trading close to $100 a barrel for the first time since July, as escalating attacks across the Middle East fuelled concerns over disruptions to oil supplies from the region.
* GOLD: Gold prices rose 1% as the dollar remained subdued, while renewed U.S.-Iran tensions and upcoming inflation data kept investors focused on the interest rate outlook.
* METALS: Copper dipped below its record high as inventories continued to build in the United States ahead of a possible tariff on refined copper imports, tightening availability elsewhere.
