March 2 (Reuters) - Poland's financial supervision authority KNF on Friday recommended dividend payout limits for Santander Bank Polska (BP) SPL1.WA and Alior Bank ALRR.WA, allowing them to distribute up to 75% and 50% of their respective 2025 net profits.
Last year, Santander BP paid a dividend of 46.37 zlotys per share from its 2024 profit and reserves, while Alior Bank distributed 9.19 zlotys per share from the annual earnings.
KEY DETAILS
KNF found Santander BP met the base criteria to pay up to 50% of its profit and, after considering the credit quality of its loan portfolio, lifted the cap to 75%, the bank said.
Alior said its dividend payout was capped at 50% to mitigate risks in its operations.
For both lenders, the maximum payout is capped at their total annual profit, excluding any 2025 earnings already incorporated into their own funds.
Santander BP reported a net profit of 6.48 billion zlotys ($1.79 billion) for 2025, while Alior made 2.37 billion zlotys.
After half-year results, Alior already included 557.9 million zlotys of the consolidated profit into its own funds.
