UniCredit CEO sees digital euro more for retail users, stablecoins for settlements
MILAN, Feb 9 (Reuters) - Stablecoins have a role play alongside the digital euro which is mostly useful for retail users, UniCredit Chief Executive Andrea Orcel said on Monday, adding Europe should take its lead from Asia where transactions are settled using stablecoins. UniCredit is part of a consortium of European banks that have joined forces to launch a euro-backed stablecoin.
