    ** U.S. Food and Drug Administration asks for additional

    ** Ampion is an injectable drug being developed to treat
severe osteoarthritis of the knee
    ** Co to conduct additional trial of about 150 patients and
will submit data from the study in the near future
    ** Up to Wednesday's close, stock had fallen 88 pct YTD
