Appointment of Director

 

 

The Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah MacAulay as a
non-executive Director of the Company with effect from 1 May 2024 following
the retirement of Susan Platts-Martin on 30 April 2024.

 

Ms MacAulay has over twenty years of Asian fund management experience based in
both London and Hong Kong, managing unit trusts and institutional assets. She
was formerly a Director of Baring Asset Management (Asia) Ltd in Hong Kong,
Asian Investment Manager at Kleinwort Benson Investment Management and Eagle
Star in London.  She is currently Chairman of Schroder Asian Total Return
Investment Company plc and a non-executive Director of Fidelity Japan Trust
plc.

 

Susan Platts-Martin, Chair of Baillie Gifford China Growth Trust, commented:

 

"My fellow Directors and I are delighted to welcome Sarah to the Board. Her
extensive investment trust board experience as well as her considerable Asian
investment management expertise will be valuable to the Board'.

 

As at 27 March 2024, Ms Sarah MacAulay had a beneficial interest in 27,000
shares in the Company.

 

The appointment of Ms Sarah MacAulay falls to be ratified by shareholders at
the Annual General Meeting of the Company to be held on 19 June 2024.

 

There is no further information required to be disclosed under section 9.6.13
of the Listing Rules.
