Appointment of Director

The Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Davina Curling as a
non-executive Director of Baillie Gifford European Growth Trust plc, effective
as of 1 November 2024.

Davina has over 30 years of fund management experience. She was managing
director and head of Pan European equities at Russell Investments. Prior to
that she was head of European equities at F&C, ISIS and Royal &
SunAlliance. Davina has also held positions at Nikko Capital Management (UK)
and Kleinwort Benson and was previously senior independent director of
BlackRock Greater Europe Investment Trust plc, retiring at the end of her
tenure in 2023.  Davina is currently the senior independent director of
Invesco Global Equity Income Trust plc and abrdn Asia Focus plc. She is a
non-executive director of Henderson Opportunities Trust plc and an independent
member of the Investment Committee of St. James's Place.

The appointment of Ms Davina Curling falls to be ratified by shareholders at
the Annual General Meeting of the Company to be held in 2025.
