Wall Street's main indexes were mixed on Wednesday as Alphabet slid and as signs
of moderating inflation kept bets intact that the U.S. Federal Reserve would
begin its policy easing cycle next month, albeit with a smaller rate cut.  .N 
    
    At 13:31 ET, the S&P 500  .SPX  was up 0.24% at 5,447.39 and the Nasdaq
Composite  .IXIC  was down 0.20% at 17,153.945.
