Corrects jumbled phrasing in paragraph 1 to say net profit rose 12.8%, not net and fee incomes
GDANSK, Aug 7 (Reuters) - Poland's Bank Pekao PEO.WA posted a 12.8% rise in its second-quarter net profit on Thursday, as strong growth in its interest and fee-based incomes absorbed legal provisions for its Swiss franc net loan portfolio.
The country's second biggest lender by total assets reported a net result of 1.60 billion zlotys ($436.9 million) for the quarter, above the 1.56 billion zlotys expected by analysts it had polled.
