Progenity gains on new U.S. patent for molecule detection platform

** Shares of the medical diagnostics firm  PROG.O  rise 3.3%
to $2.81 premarket
    ** PROG says it received a new U.S. patent related to its
single-molecule detection platform which is under development

    ** The platform is designed to enable tests such as
non-invasive prenatal testing or liquid biopsy for cancer to be
performed without the need for costly, complex sequencing - PROG
    ** PROG has previously received multiple patents covering
different aspects of the platform
    ** Stock down 48.8% YTD, up to the last close
