The Belgian insurer said on Friday it did not intend to make
a further offer for Direct Line DLGD.L after the British home
and motor insurer turned down two previous proposals.
Direct Line rejected a revised 3.17 billion pound ($4
billion) takeover bid last week from Ageas, saying it
"significantly undervalued" the company.
ASML ASML.AS
Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Chinese President Xi
Jinping will this week discuss whether ASML, the biggest
supplier of equipment to semiconductor manufacturers, can
continue to service billions of euros worth of computer chip
equipment it has sold to Chinese customers, people familiar with
the matter told Reuters.

The French government will not increase taxes despite the
country's deficit, reaffirmed Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire to
BFM TV on Friday.

The French artificial heart maker said it agreed with its
financial creditors to extend the maturity of all bank loans by
at least two years. This allows the company to reduce its
repayments by more than 30 million euros over the 2024-25
period, it added.
DANONE DANO.PA
The French dairy products group said on Friday it received
Russian regulatory approvals to sell its EDP business in Russia
to Vamin R LLC, which should be completed in the coming weeks.
STELLANTIS STLAM.PA
The European automaker said on Friday it would lay off about
400 U.S. salaried workers as it seeks to cut costs, boost
efficiency and ramp up electric-vehicle production plans.
Separately, Stellantis-owned Chrysler is recalling nearly
286,000 vehicles in the United States over a manufacturing
defect that might cause the side curtain airbag inflators to
rupture, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
(NHTSA) said on Friday.
POSTNL PTNL.AS
The Dutch postal company said on Friday it agreed to raise
its mail deliverers' pay by at least 19% from the beginning of
2024 until the end of 2025.
