Delta Apparel: Rises on upbeat Q2 outlook

** Shares in apparel and accessories co  DLA.A  up 1.3% at
$27.35, set to gain for a third straight session
    ** Co expects net sales for its March quarter to be about
$108 mln, a 12% increase from a year earlier  urn:newsml:reuters.com:*:nBw4xrRSta
    ** Forecasts operating income to more than double and
diluted earnings per share to be in the range of 58 cents to 60
cents compared with 19 cents a year earlier
    ** Says results to be driven by double-digit sales growth in
both the Delta Group and Salt Life Group segments, coupled with
margin expansion and controlled spending
    ** DLA is scheduled to report financial results for second
quarter ended April 3 after market close on May 6
    ** Shares in the company have gained over 36% so far this
year
