BUZZ-UBS cuts Diasorin to 'sell' on expectations not reflecting competition fears ** UBS cuts Italian diagnostics group Diasorin's DIAS.MI rating to "sell" from "neutral," calling for more caution compared to current expectations due to competition concerns
** It also cuts its PT by almost 17% to €55
** "Diasorin has built a highly differentiated offering in its core Immunodiagnostics business and aims to replicate this success in the Molecular market," says the broker
** However, UBS expresses caution on immunodiagnostics, citing a step-up in competitive intensity and China policy headwinds, in contrast with consensus estimating a sustained above-market growth
** The broker also notes in the molecular sector, Diasorin's new platform Liaison Nes would need to capture mass share gains to meet expectations
** UBS sees FY2026 EBIT 4-6% below consensus, while also pointing to shares trading at a premium of 15% compared to peer Biomerieux BIOX.PA among the reasons for its downgrade
** Out of 16 analysts that cover Diasorin, seven rate the stock "buy," five rate it "hold" and four maintain a "sell" rating - LSEG data
** Shares are down 3.9%, falling to the bottom of Italy's blue-chip index .FTMIB
