PARIS, Aug 28 (Reuters) - French state-owned utility EDF will make 6 gigawatts of hydroelectric capacity available to third parties under an agreement with the European Commission, the prime minister's office said in a statement on Thursday.
This virtual capacity will be put up for sale under the supervision of the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE), the PM's office said, adding that the hydropower plan includes a transition from a concession system to an authorisation system for the exploitation of hydraulic energy.
