May 4 (Reuters) - Energy group Edison EDNn.MI on
Thursday forecast its 2023 core earnings to rise to 1.4-1.6
billion euros ($1.54-1.77 billion) this year, after reporting a
52.4% hike in the first three months of the year.
The company, which is controlled by France's EDF EDF.PA ,
said its earnings before interests, taxes, depreciation and
amortization (EBITDA) came in at 544 million euros in the first
quarter, lifted by sales to the end market and gas operations.
However, Edison flagged that revenues fell around 13%
over the same period due to a drop in the volumes of natural gas
sold.
