Jan 2 (Reuters) - ORPEA:
* A group of investors said they had launched a collective
legal action against the former management team of the
scandal-hit French care homes operator previously known as
Orpea.
* Whitelight Capital founder Kevin Romanteau is among those
involved in this legal action.
* In March 2024, Orpea rebranded as a company known as Emeis
EMEIS.PA , as it sought to draw a line under scandals which
plagued it in 2022 and contributed to subsequent financial
issues.
* Allegations of mistreatment at Orpea French care homes in
a book by journalist Victor Castanet sent shockwaves throughout
France and much soul-searching over how the elderly are treated
in nursing homes.
* Orpea has rejected the allegations of widespread abuse.
