Jan 23 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 index .FTSE is
expected to open higher on Tuesday, with futures FFIc1 up
0.31%.
* HIPGNOSIS SONGS: Struggling music investor Hipgnosis Songs
Fund SONG.L said on Tuesday its investment adviser, backed by
private equity firm Blackstone BX.N , had refused to drop the
'call option' from their advisory agreement.
* ESKEN: Esken ESKN.L , the owner of London Southend
Airport, is facing
demands
by a Carlyle CG.O fund to repay an outstanding
convertible loan four years before its maturity date, the group
said on Tuesday.
* PREMIER FOODS: Britain's Premier Foods PFD.L
reported
a 14.4% jump in third-quarter sales.
* ASSOCIATED BRITISH FOODS: Associated British Foods
ABF.L said underlying sales
growth
slowed at its Primark clothing business in the Christmas
quarter.
* BOOHOO: British online retailer Boohoo BOOH.L
named
former Betfair and Zoopla finance chief Stephen Morana as
its new chief financial officer.
* CREST NICHOLSON: British housebuilder Crest Nicholson
CRST.L on Tuesday
joined
its sector peers in flagging persistent challenges in the
housing market.
* BUDGET: Britain
posted
a smaller-than-expected budget deficit of 7.77 billion
pounds ($9.9 billion) in December, the Office for National
Statistics said on Tuesday.
* BRIDGEPOINT: Bridgepoint BPTB.L announced the
acquisition of anti-aging cosmetics group RoC on Tuesday,
confirming an earlier Reuters report.
* METAL: Most base metals rose on Tuesday.
* GOLD: Gold prices rose on Tuesday.
* OIL: Oil prices were little changed on Tuesday as traders
weighed a host of conflicting supply and demand worries, with
rising tensions in the Middle East and cold weather woes
disrupting production in the United States.
* FTSE 100: UK stocks climbed on Monday.
