UK Stocks-Factors to watch on Feb 21

Feb 21 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is
seen opening flat on Tuesday with futures FFIc1 down 0.08%.
* HSBC: HSBC Holdings HSBA.L reported a 92% surge in
quarterly profit on Tuesday.
* NATWEST: The British government on Monday launched its new
energy efficiency taskforce and named NatWest NWG.L boss
Alison Rose as its co-chair to reduce the country's energy
consumption and cut household bills.
* ASDA: British supermarket group Asda said on Monday retail
director Ken Towle is leaving the business less than ten months
after starting the job.
* UK STRIKES: Tens of thousands of junior doctors in
England have voted for strike action next month, their trade
union said on Monday.
* ECONOMY: Britain's government is unlikely to be able to
tempt back to work people who retired early during the COVID-19
pandemic, as most are better-off and few people return to work
after lengthy periods out of the labour force, a think-tank said
on Tuesday.
* OIL: The Brent crude benchmark opened slightly lower on
Tuesday as the U.S. dollar strengthened and traders waited for
cues from the U.S. Federal Reserve meeting minutes, after
optimism over demand amid tightening supplies drove prices
higher on Monday.
* Britain's FTSE 100 edged up on Monday, as strength in
mining stocks lifted the commodity-heavy index, while Frasers
Group jumped after the retailer announced a share buyback
programme.
