Greek telecoms operator OTE boosted by mobile and fibre growth

May 8 (Reuters) - Greece's largest telecoms provider OTE OTEr.AT reported on Friday an increase of 2.8% year-on-year in first-quarter adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) to 338.4 million euros ($397.4 million) supported by strong mobile and fibre performance, even as margins eased on a shift toward lower-margin revenue streams.

Q1 revenues rose 4.9% year-on-year to 859.4 million euros

Mobile service revenues in Q1 were up 5.5% on the year, while postpaid subscribers rose 7.6% to a record 3.1 million

Fixed retail service revenues grew 1.1% with fiber to the home connections surging 45% to 625,000

Profit attributable to owners fell 9% to 138.2 million euros, hit by higher taxes and restructuring costs

OTE reaffirmed its 2026 guidance, targeting around 3% EBITDA growth, about 600 million euros in capital expenditure and underlying free cash flow of 570 million to 580 million euros
