Australia's Hexima rises on potential European patent for its onychomycosis treatment

** Shares of biotechnology company Hexima Ltd  HXL.AX  rise
as much as 9.1% to A$0.18, hitting their highest since June 1
    ** Hexima says an European patent covering the use of
pezadeftide, developed by the co, for the treatment of toenail
fungal infections (or onychomycosis) will be granted later in

    ** Says patent provides protection until 2035 and co also
expects to benefit from up to an additional five years of market
exclusivity through the supplementary patent certification
available for medicinal products in member states of the
European Union
    ** Stock posts its biggest intra-day percentage gain since

    ** Stock down 10.8% YTD, as of last close
