Marathon evacuates refinery, Holly shuts pipelines after Utah quake (updated)

(Adds statements from HollyFrontier and Chevron)
    March 18 (Reuters) - A 5.7-magnitude earthquake that rocked
Utah on Wednesday forced the evacuation of Marathon Petroleum
Corp's MPC.N 61,000 barrel-per-day Salt Lake City refinery and
shut down Holly Energy Partners' HEP.N pipelines, the
companies said.
HollyFrontier Corp HFC.N said it quickly enacted measures
to continue the safe operations of its 39,330-bpd Woods Cross
refinery, adding it did not anticipate further operational
disruptions to the refinery or pipelines at this time.
"Employees and contractors at our HollyFrontier Woods Cross
refinery and at our Holly Energy Partners pipelines are
accounted for and safe," the company said.
The most powerful earthquake to hit Utah in 28 years shut
down Salt Lake City's airport and knocked out a coronavirus
hotline, officials said. urn:newsml:reuters.com:*:nL1N2BB1IN

before personnel are allowed back into the refinery, Marathon
said.

known structural damage due to the earthquake, the company said.
