SEOUL, May 7 (Reuters) - Korean Air 003490.KS has started avoiding Pakistan airspace for its flight operating between South Korea's Incheon and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, following the spike in tension between India and Pakistan, the airline said on Wednesday.
A number of global carriers including Air France and Lufthansa have been re-routing flights to avoid flying over Pakistan as fighting between the two nuclear-armed South Asian neighbours escalates.
“Korean Air has begun re-routing its Incheon–Dubai flights on Wednesday, opting for a southern route that passes over Myanmar, Bangladesh, and India instead of its previous path through Pakistani airspace," the airline said in a statement.
The airline was continuing to monitor the situation to assess flight conditions, it said.
