** Chinese battery giant Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL) 300750.SZ is expected to soon resume production at lithium mine in Yichun in southern China, Securities Times reported

** Shares of Albemarle ALB.N were down 11% at $73.03

** U.S.-listed shares of Sociedad Quimica SQMA.SN, SQM.N fall 8%, Sigma Lithium SGML.V decline 6.8% and Lithium Americas LAC.TO fall 3.4%

** CATL suspended operations at Jianxiawo lithium mine after license expired on August 9, sparking surge in lithium futures prices and share prices of lithium miners
