Appointment of Chairman
Persimmon Plc is pleased to announce the appointment ofRoger Devlinas Chairmanfrom 1 June 2018.
Roger has extensive experience as an executive, non-executive and Chairman in a wide range of companies and has recently been appointedChairmanDesignate of William HillPLC. Since 2013 hehas beenChairmanof leading pub operator and brewer, Marston'sPLC,and he isalsocurrentlythe Senior Independent Director of the Football Association. Hewill step down from both Marston's PLC and the Football Association on 31 May 2018.
Nigel Mills, Senior Independent Director and Acting Chairman of Persimmon, said: "Following a very thorough process, the Board has agreed that Roger is the right candidate to chair Persimmon. I am sure that his wide business experience and his personal qualities will enable him to make a significant contribution to the future of the Group."
Roger Devlin commented: "Persimmon has delivered excellent financial performance as well as materially increasing output in recent years. Roger Devlin's fee will be 300,000, payable from 1 June 2018 and he will not receive any other benefits. Roger does not currently have an interest in shares in Persimmon.
The process to appoint Roger Devlin was led by Nigel Mills, Senior Independent Director. The Nomination Committee appointed MWM Consulting, a leading executive search and board advisory consulting firm, to conduct the search for a new Chairman. An extensive search was conducted by MWM and a shortlist of candidates was agreed before interviews were conducted.
