CHICAGO, Aug 4 (Reuters) - Chicago Board of Trade corn
futures firmed on Friday, after eight sessions lower, following
a Ukrainian drone attack near a Russian grain port renewed
concerns about Black Sea grain supplies, analysts said.
* CBOT September corn CU3 added 3-1/2 cents to
$4.84-1/4
per bushel. Most-active December corn CZ3 added 3-3/4 cents to
end at $4.97-1/4 per bushel.
* For the week, the most-active contract Cv1 fell
6.18%.
* A Ukrainian drone attack near the Russian export hub of
Novorossiysk rekindled global grain supply fears. The port
temporarily halted all ship movement before resuming normal
operations.
* Corn imports to the European Union so far in the
2023/24
season 1.17 million metric tons by July 30, down from 1.63
million a year earlier, data published by the European
Commission showed.
