Australia's Openpay Group rises on upbeat trading update

** Shares of buy-now-pay-later firm Openpay Group  OPY.AX 
rise as much as 12.3% to A$0.320, on track for their best day
since July 28, if gains hold 
    ** Says it posted a record total transaction values of
A$39.9 mln ($27.84 mln) for the month of July, a 58% increase

    ** Says customers in July rose 20% to 323,000, while active
merchants for the month remained at 4,100 
    ** Openpay stock down ~60.7% this year, as of last close
