EXCLUSIVE-French antitrust watchdog to examine Orange, Iliad, Bouygues' SFR deal, sources say BRUSSELS, July 15 (Reuters) - The French competition regulator will examine a €20.35 billion ($23.24 billion) joint bid by Orange ORAN.PA, Iliad and Bouygues BOUY.PA for telecoms operator SFR, people with direct knowledge of the matter said on Wednesday.
The European Commission will not be assessing the deal, the people said, a move which could mean an easier regulatory path for the three companies.
An official announcement could come later on Wednesday, one of the people said.
