PacWest notches big gains in second upbeat day for US regional banks

** Shares of PacWest Bancorp  PACW.O  up 6.4% at $8, a day
after announcing sale of $3.5 bln loan portfolio
    ** Stock on track for biggest intraday pct gain in nearly
three weeks, if gains hold
    ** Shares of other U.S. regional banks also up in tandem
with Wall Street, where positive economic data boosted risk-on
sentiment
    ** Western Alliance Bancorp  WAL.N , M&T Bank  MTB.N  and
Citizens Financial Group  CFG.N  rise between 2% and 3%
    ** The KBW Regional Banking Index  .KRX  gains 2.4%
