Poland's largest utility PGE rises after Q2 beat
BUZZ-Poland's largest utility PGE rises after Q2 beat ** Shares of Poland's largest energy utility PGE PGE.WA rise around 5% after the company posted better-than-expected preliminary Q2 results late on Tuesday
** Q2 net profit reached 2.06 billion zlotys ($550 million) vs 1.78 billion zlotys seen in a Reuters poll
** "PGE's 2Q26p results were well above our and consensus estimates," Erste Group analyst Petr Bártek says in a note
** Bártek adds the beat was partly driven by a lower-than-expected decline in the supply segment, growing volumes in coal generation and good margins in district heating
** As of 1040 GMT, the shares were up 4.9%, at the top of Poland's blue-chip index WIG20 .WIG20
($1 = 3.7433 zlotys)
