PointsBet gains on discussions for sale of its Australian trading business

** Shares of gambling firm PointsBet Holdings Ltd  PBH.AX 
rise as much as 10.8% to A$1.49, see their best day since Oct.
19
    ** Co confirms that it is in discussions with NTD Pty Ltd,
which owns and operates Australian wagering operator Betr, over
a potential deal involving sale of its Australian trading
business
    ** Adds that discussions are currently incomplete and
preliminary in nature
    ** More than 2.3 mln shares change hands, compared with the
30-day average volume of about 1.4 mln shares
    ** Stock has fallen 80.9% this year, as of last close
