Wall Street was mixed in volatile trading on Friday after two
days of heavy losses, as concerns of slowing global growth and
the threat of a U.S. government shutdown weighed on investors'
minds.  .N 
    At 10:24 a.m. ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI 
was up 1.46 percent at 23,192.58. The S&P 500  .SPX  was up 0.10
percent at 2,469.79 and the Nasdaq Composite  .IXIC  was down
0.57 percent at 6,491.136.
