Annual Report and Financial Statements for year ended 31 July 2025

 

The Company announces that copies of its Annual Report and Financial
Statements for the year ended 31 July 2025, Notice of the Annual General
Meeting and Proxy Form have been submitted to the Financial Conduct
Authority's National Storage Mechanism. In accordance with UK Listing Rules
6.4.1 and 6.4.3, the documents will shortly be available for inspection at:

The 2025 Annual Report and Financial Statements and Notice of the Annual
General Meeting ("AGM") can also be downloaded from the Company's website
at www.schroders.com/japantrust (http://www.schroders.com/japantrust) or hard
copies of these documents can be obtained free of charge on request from the
Company Secretary, 1 London Wall Place, London EC2Y 5AU.

 

In accordance with Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rule 6.3.5(1A), the
regulated information required under DTR 6.3.5 is available in unedited full
text within the 2025 Annual Report and Financial Statements as uploaded and
available on the National Storage Mechanism and on the Company's website as
noted above.

 

 

Highlights

·     For the year under review, the Company's net asset value ("NAV")
per share total return increased by 6.8%, outperforming its Benchmark (TOPIX
Total Return Index) which rose by 4.8%.

·  Performance was driven by a combination of factors, including the
portfolio's emphasis on undervalued companies benefiting from structural
change, and its exposure to small and midsized businesses.

·      Following the adoption of an enhanced dividend policy, the
Company has over the last year paid out 4% of its average NAV.

·   Masaki Taketsume has managed the Company's portfolio for six years,
during which time the cumulative fair value NAV has outperformed the Company's
Benchmark by 17.02%.

AGM

The AGM of the Company will be held on Monday, 1 December 2025 at 1.00pm, at 1
London Wall Place, London, EC2Y 5AU.  Shareholders wishing to follow the AGM
proceedings but choosing not to attend in person, will be able to view
proceedings live and ask questions (but not vote) through conferencing
software. Details on how to register, together with access details, will be
available shortly on the Company's website.
