Germany is looking into a change of takeover law, says Handelsblatt Sept 23 (Reuters) - Germany's finance ministry is looking into a change of takeover law after an increase in so-called low-ball offers, a spokesperson told Handelsblatt.
"The Federal Ministry of Finance is currently examining whether an amendment to the existing takeover law is necessary," the spokesperson told Handelsblatt, adding the review had not yet been completed.
Handelsblatt cited the takeover approach by Unicredit CRDI.MI for Germany's Commerzbank CBKG.DE as one of the triggers of the review.
