MILANO, Oct 6 (Reuters) - Unipol Gruppo UNPI.MI has no
plans to buy additional shares in Banca Popolare di Sondrio
BPSI.MI in the next six months or exert, even de facto,
control over the bank, the Italian financial group said in a
regulatory filing on Friday.
Unipol raised its stake in Banca Popolare di Sondrio to
19.7% last month after buying around 10.2% of the small bank
from investors via a reverse accelerated bookbuilding procedure.
Unipol added it had not plans to propose changes to Banca
Popolare di Sondrio's current board of directors but would
consider whether to put forward its own candidates when the
board members term expires.
