** Shares of chipmaker Broadcom Inc  AVGO.O  rise 4.6% to
$841.70
    ** AVGO is set to gain conditional EU antitrust approval for
its $61 bln proposed acquisition of cloud computing firm VMware
 VMW.N , people familiar with the matter said
    ** The EU antitrust watchdog to decide on the deal by July
17
    ** YTD, AVGO stock had risen ~44% vs ~39% increase in the
Philadelphia SE Semiconductor Index  .SOX  through last close
