    ** UK's competition regulator clears Broadcom's  AVGO.O 
deal to acquire VMW for $61 bln, excluding debt
    ** Broadcom says it expects deal to close on October 30 as
scheduled
    ** Hart-Scott-Rodino pre-merger waiting periods have
expired, and there is no legal impediment to closing under U.S.
merger regulations, says AVGO
    ** YTD, VMW up ~26% and AVGO has gained ~48% through last
