Recasts lead, adds detail from paragraph 2
ZURICH, Oct 30 (Reuters) -
Swiss bank Vontobel said on Thursday it attracted 3.2 billion Swiss francs ($4.03 billion) in net new money in the first nine months of 2025, buoyed by strong inflows from private clients, but continued to see institutional investors withdraw funds.
Net outflows from institutional clients reached 2.0 billion francs during the period, including 0.2 billion francs in the third quarter, the bank said.
Analysts at Zürcher Kantonalbank had forecast a turnaround to growth in the segment, which Vontobel missed.
Institutional money flows had briefly
turned
positive in the second quarter, reversing a string of outflows and the loss of a major mandate earlier this year, Vontobel said.
By contrast, private clients saw strong inflows of 4.7 billion Swiss francs in the first nine months of 2025, lifting total assets under management by 4.6% to 239.7 billion francs.
The bank separately announced it had entered into an agreement to sell cosmofunding, a digital financing platform, to Zürcher Kantonalbank. Vontobel did not provide financial details of the transaction.
