£680,000 New Contract Awards
Westminster Group Plc (AIM: WSG), a leading supplier of managed services and
technology-based security solutions worldwide, is pleased to announce it has
secured two new significant contract awards totalling £680,000.
The first award is a contract to provide a Parliamentary Broadcast System to
an East African Parliament, involving the provision of a sophisticated
broadcast and recording audio visual system for the parliamentary debating
chamber. The system combines a state-of-the-art multimedia conferencing system
with broadcast quality IP cameras and audio system for recording and
broadcasting parliamentary debates to media outlets and social media
platforms. The advanced multimedia touch screen allows attendees to select
language, agenda and meeting data, internet access, voting and identification
functionality.
The second contract award is for a worldwide broadcaster to provide advanced
security screening systems to their UK operations.
Commenting on the new contract awards, Westminster's Chief Executive
Officer, Peter Fowler, said:
"I am delighted Westminster has secured these two new contract awards, both of
which we believe offer considerable expansion potential.
"The East African Parliament contract, which our teams have been pursuing on
for some time, is located in one of our target countries and offers
considerable scope for our services. To have secured this prestigious
contract for the country's parliament is an accolade to our global reach and
reputation. This contract is just the initial part of what we expect to be an
even larger final project and is expected to be completed this calendar year.
"The worldwide broadcaster has operations all around the world and security of
their premises and personnel is of paramount importance to them. Given
Westminster's extensive portfolio of equipment and services, together with our
global operations, we believe there is considerable potential for additional
business with this important new customer."
