Successful Pilot Project with Together Housing

 

Zenova Group PLC (AIM: ZED), a provider of innovative fire safety and heat
management technology and products, is pleased to announce that Together
Housing Association Limited ("Together Housing") selected its innovative
Zenova IP thermal insulation paint for a pilot project. The aim of the pilot
project was to enable Together Housing to assess Zenova IP thermal insulation
paint's ability to insulate properties that are difficult to insulate using
traditional methods of insulation.

 

Together Housing is one of the largest housing associations in the North of
England and manages more than 36,000 homes across the region. It is a
non-profit organisation, meaning any money it makes is invested back into the
company for the benefit of its residents and local communities.

 

The pilot project took place in Halifax, West Yorkshire on properties which
experience high energy bills throughout the year due to poor levels of
insulation. Zenova IP thermal insulation paint was applied to internal and
external walls, floors, and ceilings of the properties to provide an immediate
upgrade in insulation, whilst also improving fire safety and decoration.

 

Now that the completed pilot project has demonstrated to Together Housing the
benefit of Zenova IP thermal insulation paint in improving insulation in the
properties, Zenova anticipates Zenova IP thermal insulation paint, and other
products, will be used in Together Housing's properties where appropriate.

 

 

The pilot project is being funded through the Carbon Reduction strategy budget
(decarbonisation fund) which is working towards net zero carbon across the
property portfolio.

Patrick Berry, Together Housing's Director of Net Zero said: "We have quite a
few properties that prove difficult to insulate and make more energy efficient
and are we are always interested in cost efficient new ways of addressing the
problem. The opportunity to pilot the Zenova insulating paint was a great
opportunity to use an innovative solution to the energy efficiency problem.
The data shows it has made a great difference to the property, helping to make
it warm and affordable."

 

Zenova in partnership with Synetica deployed wireless air and surface
temperature sensors.  The Together Housing property was monitored before and
after installation of IP over several months.  The results show a huge
improvement to the thermal comfort of the property.  The property was able to
heat to desired temperature twice as quickly and retain the heat for twice as
long.  This would massively reduce the heating costs for the tenant and the
properties carbon footprint.
