I hold this stock and results have been good to fair with only the last set being a little down according to Stocko. Directors are buying in and brokers are giving estimates of £6ish. I get the recent social media hysteria but why does this stock keep dropping ? Anyone shed light on the matter ?
Yes the pendulum swings! The drop is caused by momentum traders that don't consider fundamentals.
Perplexed it seems most odd given generally favourable back drop and growing market to be hammered quite so badly.
Picked some up yesterday - two director buys and a statement released saying Facebook does not affect their projections. On top of the good results and future this looks like a great buying opportunity. Google results seem to have affected the share price today.
As you mention a few weeks ago the CEO purchased 47,500 shares in the firm at 300 p, which cost him £142,500, but you have to set that against the fact in January he sold 1.65 million at 450 p, collecting £7,425,000
Facebook has recovered but TAP is heading in the opposite direction.
Could this be more serious?
I remain positive on TAP overall but I've just had a look at the AR 2017 published 31-May.... I note their Trade Receivables has increased dramatically from $27.4M prior year to $78.5M which is almost 40% of annual revenue. Is this a source of concern....?

I suspect if Stockopedia could calculate a Beneish M - Score this would indicate a risk of manipulation due to this increase
However, this was noted by others at the time of the prelims - and is in the main due to the aquisition of Tremor Video. Some comments are in the SCVR of 26/3/18.

'We don't know the exact receivables number that Taptica acquired on the purchase of Tremor, but the 2nd Mar 2018 10-K SEC filing by Telaria Inc (the vendor company) has a note on the disposal which gives a pro-forma balance sheet for Tremor at 31st Dec 2016. This shows accounts receivable of $49.6m and accounts payable of $31.7m, which is in accord with the approximately $22.5m of positive working capital that Taptica stated would be included in the Tremor purchase (RNS 07/08/17).'
This still causes me lingering concern as turnover is stated as $115m for Tremor in 2016 - this gives over 5 months which I consider high. Mitigating this is similarly high accounts payable - so it could simply be an industry specific norm but I don't know.

TAP continues its downward trajectory with no ned in sight. 10% today.
I know its a red flag for downward movements like there has been on no news. I have been resisting overtrading but this one has really made that decision look ill thought out.
Any advice on falls with no news regarding TAP?
Hi VV - There is news, it's just it was for XLMedia (LON:XLM) and not Taptica International (LON:TAP)
I believe the fall in TAP today is directly related to XLM's profit warning. People are very nervous about this industry at the moment but TAP is much cheaper than XLM so has a lot more risk baked in and hence today's sell of was probably a little unfair, especially as one of their senior Execs recently went on video to say the new regulations will not effect them.
The market does seem to link the fortunes of Taptica International (LON:TAP) and XLMedia (LON:XLM) together although I'm far from convinced by this logic.
Never buy on a profit warning, but have had a speculative punt on buying on another company's profit warning.
Time will tell.

They're having a Capital Markets Day today which might help to put the Amazon and personal data issues to rest.

I think it's just drifting on lower summer volume at the moment (Stockopedia certainly shows it being way down). That, combined with buyers likely waiting for the interims in September, is leading to the current lag in the share price. I suspect it will just trade in a range of 290-320 until the interims, perhaps with a run-up the day before. I'm expecting the interims to be good (they've told us they will be), with an attendant rerating of the stock; at least that's the hope...
yeah I hope so! I noted GLG partners bought a load of shares before the last trading statement, and sold out of this position after the statement was released for a nice profit. And last Friday GLG partners bought back more shares, maybe in anticipation of a positive statement in Sept?
