** Stock surged more than 112% in the last session but closed slightly lower in volatile trading as retail traders piled into the heavily-shorted stock

** Other high short-interest names that recorded wild trading volumes on Wednesday include donut chain Krispy Kreme DNUT.O, action camera maker GoPro GPRO.O and online gifts retailer 1-800-Flowers.com FLWS.O

** GoPro falls 2.6% and DNUT declines 6% premarket

** Roundhill's MEME ETF MEME.P, which slid nearly 7% in last session gains 2% on Thursday
