** Shares of 3D Energi TDO.AX advances as much as 16.7% to A$0.210, hitting their highest since early May 2021

** Australia-based energy firm says it has confirmed a natural gas find in the Waarre C and Waarre A reservoirs at its Essington-1 well in the offshore Otway Basin in Victoria

** Over 4.7 mln shares change hands, 2.3x the 30-day avg

** Stock has more than doubled this year, soaring ~117%
