BUDAPEST, Jan 9 (Reuters) - Hungary's government and 4iG
group signed a deal to purchase respective stakes of 49% and 51%
in British Vodafone's (VOD.L) Hungarian business for 660 billion
forints ($1.79 billion), Minister for Economic Development
Marton Nagy said on Monday.
Britain's Vodafone announced in August that it would sell
its Hungarian business to local IT company 4iG and the Hungarian
state, consolidating the hold of Prime Minister Viktor Orban's
government over the telecoms sector.
