Italy's A2A says no decisions yet on rumoured Erg tie-up

ROME, Feb 27 (Reuters) - Italian utility A2A A2.MI, reacting to reports of a possible takeover and merger with renewables group Erg ERG.MI, said on Friday it was exploring "strategic options" but had not taken any decisions.

"A2A regularly evaluates strategic options consistent with its business plan and holds discussions with various potential partners," it said in a statement, calling it a normal process.

The group said that several options were currently the subject of preliminary and exploratory talks and no decisions had been made. It added it would inform the public of any relevant developments.

At 1008 GMT A2A shares were flat on the Milan bourse, while Erg was up 1.7%.
