The Italian government could use its golden power legislation to suspend Sinochem's 600500.SS voting rights in Pirelli if attempts to curtail the Chinese state-owned firm's role in the Milan-based tyre maker fail by January, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday. The golden power rules allow Italy to impose restrictions or veto foreign investments to shield strategic assets.
UNICREDIT CRDI.MI
UniCredit has converted a 20% synthetic position in Greece's Alpha Bank ACBr.AT to increase its ownership to about 29.8% of the firm's shares, it said in a statement on Monday.
GENERALI GASI.MI
The insurer is to redeem in full on February 5 its 350 million pound 6.269% perpetual fixed/floating rate notes issued on June 16, 2006.
ENI ENI.MI
The Italian energy company said that the political upheaval in Venezuela had not had any impact on its operations in the country, and added that it was monitoring the situation.
(*) Eni and the Spanish energy company Repsol REP.MC are struggling to recover about $6 billion in gas payments from Venezuela and are facing indifference from U.S. officials about the debt, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday.

Italy's antitrust regulator has opened a probe into utility group A2A over alleged violations of European Union rules in its electric vehicle charging services.
